Sew I See!

Gosh, I knew it had been a while since my last blog post, but I didn't realize it had been that  long!   For more than a year, now, Donald's been sole owner of his web-design business, and I've been pitching in where I could, originally with small, sporadic jobs.  I've been depositing checks, mailing invoices (before everyone switched over to email), copywriting, emailing reports to clients, occasionally doing some of the simplest parts of building websites and filling in the content-- that kind of thing.  As time has progressed, the work has become more consistent.  I still handle the monthly checks and assist with the occasional data entry, etc. for new sites, but my primary focus is on copywriting-- specifically, writing for SEO (search engine optimization).  I usually enjoy it when I have an idea.  When I don't  have any ideas (or the idea involves researching and writing about health problems and medical procedures 😱), it's somewhat les...

This blog has been quiet for the past month-and-a-half.  What with one thing and another, it hasn't felt like the time to write.  Donald was away for a while to attend his father's funeral and spend some time with the rest of his family in Sweden.  Now that he's back home again and we're returning to our routines, I think I'm ready to also return to blogging.   I suppose there's no better way to get back to blogging than to just write a blog post!  (Buckle in for a long one, this time...) I had thought that while Donald was away I'd get all sorts of crafty things done.  Well, I thought it was possible .  I wasn't really expecting an amazing spurt of activity, wise from previous occasions when I found myself ostensibly with all the time in the world to --insert crafty pursuit of your choice--, only to discover that I actually get less done, when my routine is thrown off-kilter.   That's exactly what happened this time, too.  I did sp...

Overdue for an update!   First up, I finished a diamond painting!  It was my first one with square drills.  I can see the positives of using DPs with square drills.  There are more of them per square inch, so you can get a crisper image in a smaller size canvas, compared to the round drills... BUT they do take more precision in placement, and they take longer to complete.  I was in no hurry, but it was still good to have it finished.  My technique isn't perfect, but I'm still happy with how this one turned out.  The next one's all laid out and ready to go-- round drills, this time-- but I haven't started it, yet.  - - - - - - - I'm still crocheting "Oculus of Stars" and will be for quite some time to come.  I'm working on round 32, with no idea of how many rounds there are, total.  It's a very large doily, and I'm just crocheting as the mood hits me, so sometimes there will be days or weeks with no progress.  I'm in no hurry....
